Since its founding in 1987, The Sound of the Northwest has performed in a wide variety of venues in Seattle and beyond, including  schools,  community and civic events, churches of various denominations, retirement homes, and a 2012 concert in Carnegie Hall.

On July 4, 2025, The Sound of the Northwest presented "The Douglass Declaration & Celebration, a concert featuring Negro Spirituals and reading from speeches by noted African Americans.  Watch the video below to learn about The Sound of the Northwest and this special performance, and join us for this year's Douglass Declaration Concert on July 4th 2026!
